Long-time resident of Oriental, North Carolina, Manfred Rott makes many of his hand tools to turn fine woods or burls into small complex abstracts or wall hangings, threaded-lidded boxes, inlaid bangles, chalices, vases, candle holders and screens, various balls, and up-to-five-stage Chinese balls.  He may turn, laminate, inlay, lattice, ornament, dye or carve.
