Marlene and Bob Miller recently relocated “Down East” and in retirement are enjoying expanding their horizons through art.  Both spend time in the coastal swamps and marshes.  Marlene captures the light contrasts and colors of the everchanging landscape through two dimensional art using acrylics as her medium.  Bob sculpts the willowy forms of coastal shorebirds using native woods and materials.  Both have received first place recognition in local and state art competitions.  Both have sold their work in Wisconsin and North Carolina.

Occasionally, Bob and Marlene create art in which they combine their interests and talents: Bob’s woodworking skills and Marlene’s painting.   They decided to combine their efforts into the name of Creekside Art Studio, where you can find them most days, either on or off the water looking for subjects to represent or creating objects of art along Pierce Creek where they live in Oriental, North Carolina.
